The mill, gift shop and restaurant are open every day in March through January 1 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. There are no lodging or camping facilities at the mill, however there are restrooms and the Bean Palace Restaurant. Turn left on War Eagle Road 98 and follow 1.5 miles to the mill.įrom Branson – take Hwy 65 South to Hwy 412/62 W stay on Hwy 412 W from Alpena to Hwy 303 N. Turn right on Hwy 12 W and travel about 14 miles. It is 8 miles to the mill.įrom Eureka Springs – take Hwy 23 S. It is 1.5 miles to the mill.įrom Huntsville – take Hwy 412 W to Hwy 303 N. Turn right to Hwy 12 E and follow for 6.8 miles. It is 1.5 miles to the mill.įrom Points South of Rogers – take I-540 N to Exit 85. It is 8 miles to the mill.įrom Bella Vista – take I-540 S to Exit 86 turn left from ramp on Hwy 102 E. It is 1.5 miles to the mill.įrom Fayetteville – take Hwy 45 N to Hwy 303 N to Hwy 412 E to Hwy 303 N. Turn right to Hwy 12 E and follow 6.8 miles. The worst time to try and photograph the mill is during either the spring or fall craft show, however the craft show can be a good photo subject by itself.įrom Springdale –take Hwy 412 E to Hwy 303 N. The mill and bridge can be photographed at most any time of the day, however late afternoon and early evening will put the sun at your back when shooting the mill from across the river. The main things to photograph are the mill and the bridge, however their are other old buildings and the War Eagle Creek. The bridge was restored, preserving the historic integrity in 2010. The historic War Eagle Bridge next to the mill is a one lane steel bridge built in 1907 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The mill is home to the War Eagle mill Crafts Fair in May and October. The mill currently the only operating mill in Arkansas and operates as an undershot gristmill, and houses a store and the Bean Palace restaurant. A mill has been located on the site as early as 1832, but was destroyed three times, and last rebuilt in 1973. War Eagle Mill is a working gristmill in Benton County, Arkansas.
